I don’t know about you, but I do my best to restrict screentime for my kids AND for myself. At one point, my husband and I actually opted out of having a TV in our living room. But I’ll be honest, nowadays with 3 kids, I need moments throughout the day to clean or cook and I have felt super guilty about letting them veg out in front of a TV. So we started to explore options for Haddon and Betty to have educational screentime!
We recently tried out Shifu Plugo Link — a STEM gaming kit, and it’s been a huge hit! Haddon has been playing with this for a few weeks now and I wanted to share what we love so far about it.
What we love about this product:
- The kit comes with everything you need: a foldable gamepad and magnetic building blocks that easily links up with their free app
- There are a variety of games and levels and is geared for kids 5-10 years old — Haddon who’s almost 5 started off with the Pre-K level but we let him “graduate” to the more advanced levels which were more challenging for him. We also let Betty, who just turned 3, try the beginner Pre-K level but we noticed that it’s a little too challenging for her. She can play and solve the puzzles but needs constant help from someone
- STEM-oriented! The biggest reason why I love this so much is that I don’t feel that Haddon is shutting off his brain while on the iPad. We love that he’s engaged, using his hands to connect and deconstruct the magnets and solving problems.
- I also appreciated that we could use this with our iPad mini 2 — aka our super archaic iPad
Play Shifu also has different gaming kits that target different subjects like math, geography or reading. We personally thought this would be the most engaging for Haddon but can’t wait to try out the other games soon!
Thank you Play Shifu for gifting us with this kit. #sponsored #STEAMWithPlugo #PlayShifu #Plugo
